Onion or Garlic?
Fri May 05 2006

The fields right now are an absolute riot of bloom and growth. Sunny and I ran across these the other day. I looked them up and as close as I can figure, they are wild onions or wild garlic. It could be either one. And let's face it, those are very closely related items when you think about it. So let's not qwibble over details.

It would be just as satisfying to me today to just call them "pretty flowers" and be done with it.

Either way, there are large patches of them down by the creek. Would that I could send the original picture which is much sharper. Making them web friendly also diminishes them I'm sorry to say.

Best guess Wild Garlic as it grows taller than Onion up to 24". Could be tasty but very strong.

I'm with you. I don't care if they're onion or garlic. They're pretty flowers.

You are so fortunate to live so close to that field. A very nice place to "get away from it all."

They are gorgeous! We enjoyed seeing many 'wildlowers' on our walk yesteday as well. To me they are all flowers as long as they make you smile.

How do I do it? Caffeine. Lots and lots of caffeine. It helps to be slightly crazy too!
