Just Stuff

It's heating up around here per usual for this time of year. I keep pouring water on the back yard like crazy. No plant seems to thrive when the temperatures get over 95 degrees. The poor things just can't keep up with the 'parch factor'.

I have put my notice in at my job that I will be quitting at the end of the month. I am looking forward to calling my time my own again, AND eliminating the constant uncertainty of getting called away at a moment's notice. I am going to avoid that kind of situation like the plague from now on. I do not do well under those circumstances.

In case anyone is looking for some really relaxing music to zone out to, I can unreservedly recommend this CD: Spirit Wow is all I can say. It is very conducive to imagery and has a wonderful calming effect. The best I have found so far actually.

I have made a date with my neighbor to go to the library together soon. I'm on the prowl for some good books to read again. I'm starting with 'The Time Traveler's Wife' which I hear is a good read. Any suggestions for some good summer reading?

I'm all ears.

Or should that be eyes?

;-)

I'm currently reading back issues of Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine.

Aside from Judaic studies, that's about all I've read in the last few weeks. You can come rummage through my library. I have stuff other than mysteries.

Parched indeed - I've heard the word 'drought' so many times today it's enough. Honest.

The only summer reading I've done so far is the Summer 2006 Interweave Knits. Yes, I have a problem. ;o)

I'm looking forward to getting Janet Evanovich's new book, Twelve Sharp, that came out day before yesterday. I need to wait until after my midterm Saturday though or I won't get any studying done.
