I Love My Hobby, I Love My Hobby, I love my Hobby...
Sun Mar 04 2007

In a fit of concentrated effort, I have made some progress on the socks. But it was, well a bit gruesome to tell the truth. The pattern, the flowers, the small yarn, and the small needles, all make for slow going. It took me four hours to get from the left sock to the right sock here:

Hamlet is unimpressed with my sweat equity. Actually he is unimpressed by almost everything, save the sound of a tuna can opening.

Knowing full well what awaits me on the next sock, I am now in all out dithering mode and have slipped into what I can only describe as 'knitting multiple personality disorder'. What follows is not a pretty sight, and frankly one I hope not to see too often. I have three projects in the works, all because of these blasted [though beautiful] socks.

I will have to gird up my needles soon and finish those socks, else I might lose my knitting nerves altogether. And there have been moments when I was pretty sure I was working on my very LAST knitting nerve, because the thought DID run through my head that I wasn't having any fun making these socks and hobbies are supposed to be FUN. Right?

Right?

(Do you really WANT a response to that cupcake?)

Oh shut up and tend to YOUR knitting. I'm having enough trouble with my own!

You really are in trouble. I've never seen such a mess at your place.

But the socks are beautiful, and you'll love them when you're done. You're making them for yourself, aren't you??

    Shalom

They ARE pretty socks! Just think of it as practice for the sweater you will make with the homespun yarn you bought from "P".

Now THAT should make you smile. :o)

Your sock are absolutely beautiful. I can hardly wait to see them finished. Please, Please, finish them I want to seee.

I have knitted my poor sock twice now and started over. I think third time will be the charm this time. I am only making simple ribbed sock. Nothing as complicated as what you are doing. Think of all the great comments you will get when you wear them. The second sock will probably be much easier than the first. I know my third time around on my sock is much easier. Oh?? forget about third time. You are doing fine I am sure you will not have to do a third time.

Thank you so for all your sweet comments on my dairy. I really appreciate them. I am encouraged to write more often knowing someone is reading it.

I think that after doing your socks, knitting a sweater will a piece of cake. Do a sweater for a child then it doesn't have to fit perfectly make it a bit big for them to grown into.

    Love the Socks, Keep going.
