Slimed And Proud Of It
Tue Jul 17 2007

Well, I have to write an endorsement for something called 'Green Slime' that the bike shop put in my inner tubes when I bought my bike. It is supposed to 'fix' holes just like the one I got from the thorn. After observing the total flatness of that tire, I must admit I had some serious doubts about being able to revive it.

Hub Man and I re-inflated my tire after he pulled out the devilishly offensive little blighter, that being said thorn, and lo .... the tire is holding air just fine thank you very much.

So if you think 'Green Slime' is just a gimmick, think again.

I WILL however have to get myself a tire pump in the very near future.

Here are my socks in progress. It is a plain jane pattern and I couldn't let well enough alone, so added the hearts. To tell you the truth, I'm not to fond of the way the yarn looks worked up. It's Cascade 220 'Quatro'. It's okay. But just not quite what I thought it would be. Every pair I make I learn something, and this pair will be no exception.

There's always the craft fair to sell them at if Mamallama and I get our act together and actually participate. That may be more of a challenge than we thought now that she has a job and all. We shall see.

Why don't you whipstitch some suede soles on them and use them for slippersox?

Those are hearts? I need a closer inspection.

Very nice color, even if it isn't what you expected. I'll bid on your socks.

Green slime. OK, I'll remember that if I ever get a bike.

    Bless the day

their color and that heart pattern reminds me of a pair of muk-luk style slippers my MIL got for me years ago. They were WONDERFUL during the winter.

Well I like them! Hearts and all.

Glad the slime did it's job. One never knows about slime.
    Hugs!

Well, I like the socks, actually. Still, like you said, you learn something from each pair you make. ;-)
