Cool Weather
Wed Jul 18 2007

While I wait for my name to come up on the waiting list at Ravelry, I have been trying to get a little bit of knitting organization done around here. I thinned out my stash at the last knitting guild meeting by donating yarn for the silent auction. I am finishing up my pile of projects and then I plan to go through my remaining stash and make some decisions. I think I need some kind of storage system for my knitting needles. I have been looking at things like this:

Case

and wondering if they will work for me.

***

It started out today all cloudy here. I mean serious dark clouds and cooler temps. I'll tell you, when that happens I realize just what a cool weather person I am. It's like someone gave me a shot of vitamins. I have been buzzing around getting all kinds of things done around the house and yard. Must be that Scots-Irish blood doing its thing. It's just gone 2 in the afternoon and the clouds are breaking up.

Have any of you seen the BBC program called "How Clean Is Your House" ? I have been watching it lately. What a hoot. Actually it's gross, how dirty some people's houses are, but the ladies that clean up and the difference that they make is SO amazing. And 9 times out of 10 the people keep things looking good when they go back two weeks later to check up on them.
I always end up going off and cleaning something after I watch that show. You can't help yourself!

Okay. Off to knit.

We didn't just get the dark clouds, we got real, live, ACTUAL RAIN! Half an inch of the stuff! The Kid even got rained out of work for the day. Just so you know, our normal rainfall in July is zero.

My mom had a case similar to that and she just loved it though she couldn't put her circular needles in without crimping them.

I don't watch TV as a general rule but I HAVE seen that show once. What they encountered made me cringe!

Weren't those clouds just loverly!? I saw them coming in about sunset yesterday. But the humidity, oy! the humidity.

That case looks very nice for straight needles, but how about the circulars? With more than two sets of needles, the case would probably be a good investment.

Donating yarn for an auction? Where do the proceeds of the auction go?

    Bless the day

If you're that much of a cool-weather person, why don't you live up here? It's 5:30, currently 68 and mostly cloudy, high today was about 72 and tomorrow should see more of the same! Our heat waves get up to mid 90's and about once a decade we break 100 for a day or two.

I personally think this part of the country should be renamed "Heaven"!

Cooler here, too. I woke up around 1:00am to the sound of rain. It rained for another hour and a half. Very nice sound AND I didn't have to water the veggies today. :o)
    Hugs!

Lol, I know what you mean about being a winter person. Well, I'm the opposite. I struggle through winter. I just love the sunshine. Hope Ravelry helps you get organised. ;-)
