Hobbit Pouch Addiction
Fri Jun 20 2008

Not long ago, I took a field trip with my knitting friends up into the hills about 45 minutes from here. We went to a woman's studio where she hand dyes yarn. She had some beautiful stuff, but most of it was lighter weight yarn. I bought three skeins of sport weight from her, determined to find something to do with it.

I decided the colors looked like a Hobbit bag. I have never used fine yarn for one before, so I decided to go for broke and try it.

Here is the result... sorry about the plastic bags, it's still drying.

I have decided I will probably never get tired of knitting felted bags. EVER.
There is just something so satisfying about them. Useful, whimsical little things. Especially if talented people keep dying up inspiring yarns!

And what a satisfying addiction at that.
I don't think I'll ever tire of it either.
So many ideas for bags...so little time. *sigh*
Now get off the computer and go knit another one!!

Lovely! It almost inspires me to learn how to knit--except that I know I will never have time! I'll have to stick with something I already know (quilting) and just envy the myriad skills of the likes of you!

I totally understand your addiction........ if I could just decide on a color I would be quite tempted to put in an order.

Hmmmmmm..... dark plum..... aqua (is that a good hobbit color?)...... forrest green..... lavendar..... hmmmmm....... all this thinking is hard on the brain. I'll think about it tomorrow when I'm back home at Tarra.........ooh, scarlet! (nope, too risque) *sigh*

Wow, how beautiful! I love the colors. I never quite got the hang of knitting. I used to crochet lots, though.

Can't wait to see your next project! : )
