Oh my, I have happy stories all over the place....
First, I spoke to Pragmatist last night on the phone and she sounded quite chipper. She said she will be going to a rehab facility before going home to gain some strength. I was glad to hear that. I hate it when they send people home from the hospital too soon. Anyway, she seems to be well on the mend.
Second, it turns out that Pal only spent one night at the boarding place. His new owner came to get him and he is now living north of here on a horse ranch!!!! The wife trains horses and dogs. The husband has a tree trimming business. He wanted a side kick to come with him in his truck. I cannot THINK of a better place for Pal! I was so relieved and happy for him. . .
Third, we now have Ben with us. His 90 year old owner had to go into an assisted living place and he couldn't go along.
He had been out in their back yard for several days it seems during the transition and picked up a boat load of burrs and stickers and leaves and sticks and even a little pitch in his coat. We spent an hour the first night brushing all that out, and then Thanksgiving morning early, he got a bath.
Brace yourself.
You are about to see one handsome Sheltie.
Ready?
(You know, you really need to grow up.... this is embarrassing....)
Alright. Here he is:

I rest my case.
Everyone has their personal preferences in Sheltie types. Ben happens to be my kind of Sheltie. Short torso, sturdy legs, full coat, and a little substance in build. So for me, he is perfection.
And guess what? So far, he is just as sweet and well mannered as he looks.
He and Fiona are slowly getting to know each other. I don't think we will have any trouble in that area.
So begins another adventure....
I hope you all had a happy day yesterday.
