Short People With Sharp Objects

It must be January.

I got to looking around this page and thinking it's time for a change.
Even though I like this theme very much, I still think I may do some redecorating.

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that for the last four days I have prowled the yard with pruning implements in my hands. It can give you an inflated sense of power. I just now whacked on the last butterfly bush.

(She hasn't cleaned up the prunings from that yet. So don't let her fool you that she's all finished with the job.)

Hey. I got tired. I'm short. You try pruning stuff that's over your head for an hour and see how YOU feel....

Ingrate.

So, I have pruned the blackberries, the two apple trees, a plum, three butterfly bushes, a scary overgrown potato vine, part of the fruitless plum that was encroaching on the peach tree. Hub Man helped with the peach tree. It has grown beyond my ability to do on my own since I have a tweaked shoulder.

Anyhoo. Now I need to move on to some plant clipping. Nothing too major. And a real clean up of leaves and sticks from the willow tree in the front yard. We have new bark to spread out there, but really can't do it till it is all cleaned up nicely.

I figure I have four or five more days worth of work to do until I can take a rest and maybe plant a few things. Sweet peas. Eating peas. And maybe a few more perennials to round things out in the flower beds.

So doesn't it make sense that I might want to clear up on my diary too?

(Frankly my dear, I do not see how these things are related at all. If you really want to know.)

Well, that just shows the weakness of your deductive reasoning there P.
Show a little imaginative thinking.

(I like the way the place looks right now, and I don't want to move the furniture.)

Sorry Porky, I'm the one doing the typing around here.

(That was a very low blow.)

Yeah? Well I'm also the one with the pruning shears, so watch yourself.

You get to do YARD WORK?????? And are contemplating planting in a few days???*whines loudly*. I'm not sure I even HAVE a yard at this point. Can't tell because of the snow so I'm housebound. You know what happens when I'm stuck inside and bored to death??? I start home improvement projects that usually revolve around ripping things out. I'm sure my hubby will be sooooooo pleased when he gets home *inserts cheesy grin*

I will trade the yard and pruning job for my cold snow job. I am not winning as it is to be -4 by morning and windchill -20 .MsDaisy passed her bad cold to me and clearing snow has not been fun. A funny thing takes hold of getting all the gear on to do the job and after three days each night facing a new batch greets me in the morning. Gotta keep the drive way open as Daisy has a blood level check in the morning, that we rescheduled once already. So any takers???

This warmer, not quite warm, weather has me thinking of flower and vegetable beds, too. I understand we have one more of this and then the real winter is supposed to be back.
We'll see if their crystal ball is right this time.
I really should get the leaves raked in the front yard, just in case.
Yeah, we'll see if that happens. :o)

I'm not going to make any comment here. I was tired when I logged in, then I read your diary, and I'm all worn out.

    Maybe later.

    Bless
