Preparations Of All Sorts
Tue Nov 24 2009

Ah, the house smells of fresh baked dinner rolls. My contribution to Thanksgiving dinner this year. And guess what? We will be up in the northwest with the family. Woo Hoo!

I have yet to pack a thing, but have made a large dent in the departure list. Along with the Thanksgiving meal, I have a happy errand to run while we are in their area. I'm on the hunt for some 'Spud and Chloe' yarn. Enough to make a sweater. I hardly ever buy that quantity of yarn, but after working with the samples we were given at our knitting retreat, I realized I had found 'my' yarn. It's a blend of wool and cotton that is just wonderful to work with. My local yarn shop does not carry it... yet... [I have a plan] ;-). But there IS a shop up there that does. I even called ahead to make sure they would be open the day after Thanksgiving.

Now, the main problem will be to choose which color of their 'sweater yarn' to buy. It's a newish company and they don't have a huge range of colors, so that will help. You can check them out by searching for Spud and Chloe yarn.

Sunny and Ben are going to the kennel this afternoon. In honor of the occasion, Ben got a bath yesterday. He looks fabulous.

I'm going to miss those two. But it will be good to have a break in the routine, as the new foster dog should be here a day or two after we get home!

Well, I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving, and that we all find many things to be thankful for...

I'm going to have Pecan Pie!

And mash 'taters.

(Happy Thanksgiving. Don't eat too much. It will give you a stomach ache.)

Remember to help your hostess

with the dishes. It's always a nice touch.

Bring the house a gift.

Wipe your feet.

TRY not to spill on the tablecloth.

Ignore (), it's good manners to

eat till you are stuffed!

(If she only knew what she was saying..... sigh)

Oh my! That Ben is one gorgeous boy!!

I'm having dinner on Thursday with some biddies from the shul. Well, not all the guest will be from the shul, but that's the way it started.

I'll be taking a mince pie and my famous salad, which is a meal unto itself. I expect to enjoy the company and the food, and I may even take a bite of turkey in honor of the day.

It goes without saying that you will enjoy your dinner and company with the family. So eat in good health. And I hope you find exactly the yarn you're looking for.

    Bless
