Take Time To....

Yipee!

Pictures!

The other day, someone brought me some flowers.

Now, when I was younger and more practical, I would have preferred a live plant or a vat of cookies, but these days I am more in tune with the many positive benefits of looking at beautiful things in your house.

Ergo, I was delighted with the following frivolity:

Here's a closer look:

You know, God didn't have to make flowers. He could have given the plants some sticky goo on a stem that pollen fell onto in order for procreation among plants to take place. But no, He chose almost an infinite variety of wonderful instead.

I'm very thankful that He did.

God did start out with plants that had sticky parts to catch the pollen - ferns, grasses, gymnosperms. Then He felt sorry for giving us hay fever so he gave us the rose.

And they say God doesn't have a sense of humor!

I know a lot of gardeners who freak out if someone picks one of their flowers but I grew up in a home where flower picking was encouraged. The philosophy behind it was along the lines of 'bring nature inside and enjoy it'.

Those flowers are absolutely stunning. The tulips are the perfect contrast to the beautiful color of the roses ;)

A bouquet may not last, but the thought that promoted it lasts a lifetime.

And roses have their own lovely language.

What a gorgeous combo! Pink and yellow is my favorite color combination for flower arrangements. Lovely milk pitcher as the vase, too!
