Back On The Needles Again

There hasn't been much in the way of knitting happening around here this summer. I've had my mind and energies on other things. Though I have cranked out a couple of chemo caps in all fairness to the facts of the matter, but the other day I decided I was ready for some serious knitting.

Got out my Yarn Harlot sock recipe and set to on this pair...

I saw a friend at the knitting guild meeting knitting up this yarn and instantly decided I NEEDED that yarn. Bad. Called the local yarn shop and, happy day! she had it in stock.

I admit it is a bit loud. But it makes me happy.

Here's a closer look at a stitch called a 'sturdy heel'. I really like it.

And here's the top. I like that pink row at the very beginning. [I did that on purpose]. Really. I did.

Well, I have a day of baking and cooking ahead of me. A nice day for it too, as the temperatures have taken a dive from the 104 degrees of a few days ago. Whew. I hope we have seen the last of that nonsense for the year.

Fall is in the air.

My favorite time of year.

    I REALLY, REALLY want to knit a pair of socks.
    I've been saying for that two years now.
    Guess I better put my money where my mouth is, buck up and just do it!
    Maybe this winter.

    Love the yarn. Yeah, it's a little loud but it has character!
