I heard the news that we were supposed to have a hot day today.
Ergo, I started my wood shed project as early as I could manage it.
Here's what it looked like before I started...
Tsk, tsk.
A shameful lack of tidy.
I don't know how I let it get so messy.
Anyway, I decided to take it down to the bare bones.
A black widow died during this process.
So did a small nest of wasps.
I feel no remorse.
I put all the small wood that I threw off the truck yesterday into the shed and stood back to admire my work.. [the boxes have kindling in them].
The small limb wood will make good early fall fires when you just want to take the chill off the house in the morning.
Though I must admit, it's hard to think about putting Bruce into action any time soon.
After I did this job, I trimmed some dead branches out of the trees on the north side of the house and hauled some things to the burn pile.
I was sweating like a dock worker by this time and had to take a shower in self defense.
But by golly, my wood shed is in order.
Oh, and just to end this entry on a more aesthetic note, here's my little lemon tree forest as of yesterday afternoon....
Isn't it adorable?
