I've been dismantling various linen garments from second hand stores, to get bits of fabric that I can use for other purposes.
Being a seamstress myself, I feel somewhat weird about cutting off a carefully crafted collar on a blouse, just so I can have the bits of fabric below it. Not being a vandal by nature, this gives me pause.
But I have a vision of something else that's hidden in the fabric, that to be fair, got its chance to be a blouse for who knows how long.
Now it's a pouch for dried lavender and a canvas to practice my rusty embroidery skills. I totally stole this idea from Pinterest. I must confess.
I forgot how much I like embroidery. I used to be a prodigious creator of cross stitched projects.
Though I never could master the French Knot. EVER.
But lucky for me and the lavender, I found directions for something called a Colonial Knot, which works EVERY time!
Those Colonists knew their needlework. :-)
Excuse me while I go dismember some more perfectly good clothing...
