Tucked Up
Wed Oct 23 2013

Our indian summer days continue in full force. I worked in two shifts today, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Mr. P. loaned me his rototiller again, and I put my garden to bed for the winter.   Garden done     I'm watering my winter crops, as it has been so dry here for many, many days now. They were thirsty. Tonight, S. came for dinner and we ate roasted vegetables. While I was tilling, some potatoes I missed popped up out of the ground, so I added them to onions, butternut squash and carrots…. all from this little patch of soil. They were delicious. I'm tired now though. Need to go to bed. Perchance to dream about next year's garden. I have many changes in mind. I learned a lot this year. But even with my bumbling, I still had a lot of wonderful food to eat. I am content.   lime wild

Gardens give such satisfaction of a job well done. Something about working with the earth to nourish the body.
