The soup?
Very rich. Almost too much so. Next time I'll use milk instead of half and half. But very edible, and easy to make.
We are still helping the parents unpack their shipped household.
It's been quite the adventure. And is taking a long time to get to everything and find certain items that remain mysteriously absent.
They moved from a large house to a smaller one, and there just isn't room for everything. Some furniture …
(What do you mean 'some'? There's a whole 'nother house out there in the barn! Tell the truth.)
Okay, a lot of furniture is homeless right now. Not barnless, but homeless.
I took pity on a little brown chair that I felt most likely could not withstand the uncertainty of a barn existence, awaiting an uncertain fate at a yard sale in the Spring.
So I brought the little brown chair home with me.
I have an affinity for it, for some reason.
In keeping with my house rules, I took an old kitchen chair I have had for a long time down to the barn in its place.
As a matter of fact, a whole raft of stuff went down the the yard sale pile yesterday because I am expecting an addition to my kitchen bakeware in the next day or two, so I removed some hodge podge baking dishes in anticipation. I am truly committed to keeping my little house as uncluttered as possible.
As you see, the leaves haven't been removed entirely yet.
I'm working inside the house today. I hope to get to those leaves tomorrow.
(That's what you said yesterday.)
Dude. You know where the rake is. Why don't you wield it?
(It's not in my job description.)
How convenient for you.
(Exactly so.)
Sigh.
