A Test In Patience
Wed May 07 2014

I have a call in to G., my chicken guy. I even drove out to his house and put a note on his shop door to tell him I am ready for my hens. He seems to be gone for the day. Rats. But I still had a few things to keep me busy…. I hauled straw up from the barn and filled the coop: ready1   ready2   I put the wooden eggs I found at a second hand store into the nests:   ready3   I hung high art: ready4   That's a carved wooden block from S. who's daughter painted it many years ago. It's perfect for a chicken coop. I filled and hung the waterer: ready5   ready6   Mr. P. hung the gate and we put a latch on the post. It is perfect in every way: ready7   I added amendments to my purchased chicken feed: Amendments   I loosely followed the recipe from the Fresh Eggs Daily web site. Oats, flax seed, garlic powder, oregano, nutritional yeast, and diatomaceous earth. I guess I should put out a welcome sign… because dudes, we are ready to open up shop…. ready8   Here chicky chick chick!     lime wild
