I have been trolling Craigslist and searching all over the place for materials for constructing raised beds for the garden. I was considering everything from cement blocks, to plastic, to used metal horse troughs, to recycled lumber. The more I looked, the more confused I got about how to go about this whole project.
Originally, I had made up my mind that I wanted to spend the least amount of money humanly possible. I got all stubborn about it, which sometimes is not my best quality. :-) "I'm NOT going to spend more money on that garden!" Was a phrase that whirled around in my brain. I may even have uttered it out loud to S. who was visiting the other day.
But yesterday morning, over breakfast, I changed my mind.
(Waffler.)
Hey, it's a woman's prerogative .
So I hauled my waffley self over to the lumber yard on a fact finding trip to check on the price of materials.
As I pulled up to the parking space, I could not believe what I saw.
I got out and stood there looking at this marvel and just shook my head.
It's WAY sturdier than I would have built if left to my own devices.
AND it has a hardware cloth bottom to keep out the moles and voles and gophers.
One and 3/4 inch cedar!
I drove home to sleep on the decision. And today I went back and ordered four of them!!!
They will have to make them, and when they are done, will deliver them to my place.
Don't you think it's funny how the Universe is listening?
(I think it's funny that you are actually going to spend money.)
Well, there's that.
Yeah....come to think of it, that's pretty funny too. :-)
