An Obsession With Wood Pulp
Mon Aug 17 2015

I was about to write the opening sentence telling you where I heard about this company, and right at the moment, I can't bring it to mind. I think this is what they call 'a senior moment'. Ah, I remember now, it was Pinterest. The repository of all that is obsessive about the internet. :-) I use a day planner all the time, and I am following someone on Pinterest who posts photos of interesting stuff for your planner. Most of the time I just look, admire, and move along. This time I got pulled in. All the way in. I ended up ordering a day planner kit for the month of August. They hooked me with a discounted kit that was missing two small items. I wanted to see for myself if this stuff was as yummy as the pictures looked. It took 6 days for it to arrive. I almost had some sort of break down, and at one point even went down to the post office and bothered them about just how long it was going to take my package to travel the last 100 miles of its journey to my mailbox. They were very kind to me. I've been in there before about other packages. They have decided to consider me adorable. :-) It finally DID arrive. And here is the unboxing... DSCN7106 Now before I go any further... I should explain that my obsession with paper goes WAY back, and is part of my freakin' DNA or something. I remember every detail of the first time I saw a rainbow tablet in the Ben Franklin store when I was about 6 years old. I thought whoever made that thing was some kind of genius. I WANTED it with every fiber of my being. I think my mom did get it for me. It probably cost a whole nickel, and the paper was so cheap, you could see wood bits in it. But I thought it was absolutely magical. Things have changed since then... DSCN7107 Oh my. DSCN7110 Oh dear. DSCN7111 Have mercy. DSCN7113 I feel faint. DSCN7114 What's a girl to do? DSCN7116 This is the grown up version of my Ben Franklin experience. But the feeling is very much the same. It pushes all my happy buttons. After seeing this kit in person, I decided that I could use more happy in my life, and I signed up for a subscription to get a kit each month for the next six months. It's going to cost a tad more than a nickel, but considering the joy factor, it is worth it to me. So every month, I'm going to get a surprise package in the mail. I wonder what my six year old self would have thought of THIS ? Little Miss Sunshine1 SQUEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!   Me too!   (Oh grow UP will you?) Nope. Not today. I have RAINBOW paper!   lime-wild

Oh that looks so wonderful. So are you going to share where it comes from so maybe others could experience some 'spontaneous joy'?

Oh, that is lovely! I share your enthusiasm for paper of beauty. It's all I can do to resist buying every beautiful notebook the bookshop stocks - I'm sure I think much more clearly when I'm taking notes on lovely paper :-) My excuse for choosing the $40 pretty notebook over the $5 functional one is my mantra of working to surround myself with things that give me joy. It's a very handy multi-purpose excuse, that one :-)
