Not long ago, my friend C. emailed me a link to this story:
http://faso.com/fineartviews/100209/surprise-you-are-the-needle-in-the-haystack
It's a story about an artist who decided to make a small piece of art for 365 days and give it away. [Read about his reasons.]
Now those of you who have read this blog for a long time know that this is not a new idea around here! Though my hat is off to him for the 365 day commitment! In his case it eventually wound around to self promotion, but I like the idea anyway, because in my world, too many finished fiber objects, clogs up my creative circuits. This is what's happening right now.
So, my hens and chickens, I am giving away some of my hand woven scarves. I can't bear for them to sit in a plastic tub in my closet another minute. It is a weariness to my bones to worry about how to sell them. I just want to CREATE them! And set them free. So for now, that's what is going to happen.
Here's the drill... I will collect names in the comments for 48 hours. So at about 4 PM on Tuesday this week, I'll put the names in a hat and pick a winner. The scarf will be sent on its way to you forthwith.
If you are interested, leave a comment below.
Here's the first scarf... pale blue and white 100% wool, slightly felted. This is more of a 'tuck scarf' as it isn't overly long.
Good luck!
