Star Wars 2016
Mon Jan 11 2016

If you haven't seen Star Wars - The Force Awakens yet, because you are afraid it will be as messed up as the last three movies they made, fear not. Go see it. I promise, it will not break your heart. You'll fall in love all over again. I've seen it three times already because I'm a crazy fan girl. The first viewing was with my brother and sister-in-law. As we were getting ready to get out of the car at the theater I was rummaging around in my purse for my ear puffs. [The sound in theaters is too loud for me and I need them]. Anyway, I discovered I only had one in my purse. "Oh no! I said, I only have one of these!" SIL said "Here I have one kleenex left, you can use this." I took it from her and said, "No,I'll need this in case I have to cry." My brother, in his most down to earth, non fan boy, brotherly voice told us emphatically... "There's no CRYING in Star Wars!" SIL and I cracked up laughing and disagreed with him just as emphatically! And later, during the movie, at a particularly tense moment, one of the characters DID cry. I poked my SIL and whispered... "See, there IS crying in Star Wars." :-) I have a new heroine. star-wars-force-awakens-rey   Rey. All the magical things we loved about the first movie are here. Self discovery. Bitter loss. Conflict. Victory. Hope. My favorite lines in the movie (paraphrased) are spoken by Han Solo.... "The Force, the Jedi, it's true. All of it." Yep. That's my man.  :-) And, just in case you are worried that it takes itself oh so seriously... forget that. There's plenty of humor to ease the tension. But, dudes, when you go, bring your own popcorn. They want 7.50 cents for the stuff. That's insulting. Unless you can do the Jedi mind trick and get them to give you a bag for free. If that works for you, let me know. Just in case I go see it for the fourth time..... (May the Fourth be with you.) Hey, ( ), that was almost funny!..... but you are not a Jedi yet.       lime-wild

You paraphrased? I didn't see your APA citation. Be damned.

I've seen it twice -- and I was not a super fan before. I only saw Episodes IV and I and then, at Nathan's insistence, he and I binge-watched I, II, III IV, V, VI before he would agree to go with me to VII. Guess he didn't want me to embarrass him by bombarding him with questions throughout his second viewing! It was definitely fun. And then Nathan saw it for the third time and I for the second when we took Mom to see it in Zanesville :) She had only seen #IV prior but still enjoyed it. No wonder it's making so much darned money. Half the profits are coming from repeat visitors. BTW Nathan, Megan and I saw Skellig Michael, off the coast of Ireland, from a distance. The seas were too rough for us to take a boat trip to climb those stairs and find Luke. Otherwise we could have told you all where he was in the summer of 2008 ;)

I saw Star Wars with my sons in Fresno over Christmas vacation and it was great-we loved it, of course! I love Hans Solo-he is still great in it. The whole movie was really done well. We saw it in 3D in IMAX-truly awesome to see it this way. Thanks again Deb for the beautiful handmade scarf - it is just perfect!
