The Mad Washi Party
Sun Sep 18 2016

For those of you who may not be into paper crafting, the following obsession may seem much ado about nothing. But considering my longstanding resistance to diving into this particular branch of paper craft supplies, I had to make note that when I succumb, I fall deep. Washi tape. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washi That article doesn't mention Washi tape per se, but it does talk about its origins. Before this last week, I only had a handful of rolls of washi tape, most of which came in my Cocoa Daisy kits. But when I started making this new art journal, which uses quite a bit of the stuff... I realized that I was Washi deficient. Which led me to Amazon, where I fell down the rabbit hole, all the way to Washiland.  I looked at a boatload of Washi. None of it really did much for me. . . . Until I ran across the following brand. I fell fast and hard. And wouldn't you know, it's about the most expensive tape around. But oh my paper scissors, is it beautiful! Behold: dsc02183 I bought the regular width and four wider ones. And it comes in those lovely little boxes too... dsc02186 Now if this brand had been covered with images of Hello Kitty or airplanes, or camouflage,  I might not have been so tempted... but LEAVES?  I am a pushover for leaves, any time, anywhere. So they pretty much had me at... "Japanese Maple". I have officially exceeded my Washi budget for 2016 and probably carved my way through the fiscal year of 2017 too. Don't tell the budget office will you? I want to break it to them myself. I'll take full responsibility for the error of my financial ways. But I won't lie. I pushed the 'Proceed to Checkout' button on Amazon with my eyes wide open, and my heart aflutter. I put some of the wide variety on my newest pages, still in progress... dsc02191 To me, they were worth every penny. Even though I don't have any pennies left.... :-)   lime wild

Those certainly are beautiful examples of Washi tape. I have always wondered what you do with it. So...you put it in between pages and on the edges?

That tape is very pretty - looks so much nicer than the cheap tape they sell as "washi" in most craft shops round here!
