Winter Delight
Thu Mar 13 2025

My Pilea plant:

It put out a 'pup' some time ago, and I finally transplanted it into a small pot and have installed it on my work table. Yesterday, while it was raining, I decided to put it out for an hour or so to get some real rain. When I brought it in, I was enchanted by the water droplets and had to take a few pictures.

I have found that moving my desk underneath this south facing window brings out the beauty in the things that are on my table. As I sit there working, or just enjoying the view, it's like all the objects are shown in their best light. Literally.

In the rainy and snowy winter, I'm very grateful to have such a feast for my eyes indoors until I will, God willing, be able to feast them on Sweet Pea blossoms and Peonies months from now.

In the meantime, I obsess a little about every tiny, delightful thing in my immediate surroundings that I can.

(Obsess is your middle name.)

Yes. I know.

(Giving up so easily?)

You speak truth today. I won't argue.

Anyway, with exquisite timing to reenforce the situation I'm describing... it has just begun to snow.

Winter persists.

But, my friends, so do I.

Nice desk of your work, plant, and art! Winter is almost over here and Spring is on its way soon enough. I’m ready for spring and warmer weather myself. Winter here was not that horrible this year. It was mild here. If we got any snow, it did not stay for very long.
