This is a moderate number of fonts for me.
At one point, I had about 900.
That was in the good old days. Until I realized that it was taking forever for Word to open up because it was hauling out all those fonts in case I decided to use them.
I did a major housecleaning and got rid of a bunch of them, but I kept some on a folder on my desktop called Un-fonts just in case I get a case of the low font count jitters. There are 402 of them in the un-font file.
The fact that I actually only USE about 20 of them, is of no importance to me, I just want to HAVE them in there in case I get some crazy printing idea on a rainy day and want some weird fonts to play with.
Because I do not have the proper HTML skills, I cannot show you some of my cool fonts. Maybe one day I will get there, but at this point HTML might as well be Uzbekistanian to me. I have only the most rudimentary understanding of it.
For instance, the pink bar at the bottom of my posting was dictated to me by my
youngest son over the phone. The only thing I knew about were the color codes, he had to tell me the rest of it. And he also told me how to add a link and I have it written on a piece of paper taped to my monitor for the rare occasions I put a link on my diary.
Anyway, I am composing this entry in Word with a font called Ragamuffin. You can get it from the internet for free. Go to FONT FREAK or one of those cool places and check out all the wild and whacky ways you can use up paper and make things hard to read!
Well, gotta go.
Time for bed.
