Yes, Let's Couch
Fri Sep 26 2003

Well, we did it.

We drove over to the furniture store and plunked down the money for the couches AND the plaid chair! (Sorry Ozone, can't afford the whole room!)

If you didn't see it before, please check out Sept. 22 "To Couch or Not to Couch, That is the Question" for a picture.

They will deliver it next Thursday when I am a free woman again.

Now what I CANNOT decide is whether or not to treat it with Scotchguard.

Anybody have any experience with that stuff? I have never used it and don't know if it works or is worth doing or is a big mistake, or just a waste of time.
All opinions are welcome!

Three more days! And I will be home again.

I can hardly believe it. Oh the things I am going to do!

Okay, gotta run, Tanya class tonight...

By all means, get the Scotchguard. It is good stuff, and will save your new furniture from all manner of pet stains, kid stains, tea stains, and etc... You needn't worry about it getting sticky, or flaky, or anything. You will never notice that it is there, unless something is spilled. Then it just puddles up and you can pick it up with a paper towel. Excellent on carpets, too.

I would scotchguard it. I have done it with no ill results, and the things seem to wipe off it it easier.

Yay you! You made and you now have your reward. Good for you for sticking it out.

It is such fun to get new furniture! Definitely get the Scotchguard. Target sells it for $5 a can, and you will probably need 2-3 cans to do 2 coats. Makes a huge difference, especially on light-colored fabrics without a lot of texture. That kind of upholstery shows dirt like crazy, and the scotchguard will prevent it from looking grubby.
