I was GOING to take a picture of a rose that was blooming in my front yard, against all logic, but alas when I actually went out there to take the picture, I saw that it had faded and was falling to pieces. Oh well, I should have gotten there sooner. So I glanced around the front of the house for something else that might be interesting, and in the corner by the fence neglected and unnoticed till now, a little surprise was unfolding...

These are my miniature daffodils, getting ready to do their thing. Methinks I had ought to put them out where they get a little more sun, what do you think?

Yesterday when I got home from work, Sunny and I went for a late afternoon walk in the fields that run up against the airport nearby. There is a great tower there and I knew those guys could see us. I was hoping we weren't doing anything that made them nervous. The National Guard guys patrol the fence line from time to time, so we stayed pretty far away from that. But I think I am going to go out there again. There is a nice hill that falls away and gives a wonderful long view of the horizon. Sunny didn't care about that much though. She ran herself to a frazzle, but saw narry a jackrabbit. But I decided that we could have pheasant every night for dinner if I had a way to snag one. She almost always flushes some out of the bushes. She doesn't give chase though. I guess she understands that wings give them the home court advantage every time.

I'll have to take the camera out there with me next time and show you the view.

You could bring a sling with you and use the pheasant for target practice, maybe someday you would have that for dinner! If all else fails, it gives Sunny some rocks to chase and fetch for you!

I used to work as chef on a private hunting club and I wouldn't do anything about those pheasants unless or until you get a hunting license, if I were you. Poaching is a very serious offence and comes with HUGE fines and maybe even jail time. You'd never see the game warden watching you, either.

I had mistaken your daffodils for green onions.
What a surprise to mine tastebuds.

You would show me those daffodils just as our temperatures are dropping 20° with a cold front. ;o) I can't wait to see the blooms!

Sunny is a very luck doggie.
I'm glad that you have a close place to walk that has a good view. Not just sidewalks and homes.

    Take care and God Bless.....Parett
