The Sweet Smell of Summer
Sun Jun 10 2007

That's the time of year you find these in your backyard.....
 [album 65561 Berry Cat2.JPG]
We are going to have to re-name this cat. Or at least give him a title. I think "The Inspector" would fill the bill.

PS...  I finally see what that marking on Hamlet's head resembles. Why it's a little gray mouse taking a nap, with his tail tucked under him.   I can't imagine why I didn't see it before now....
Hamlet would be so annoyed if he knew about it!

    You have BLACKBERRIES??!!!! *sigh*

Why, yes, now you mention it, I see it too. Let's not tell him, eh? I think "annoyed" is a little mild for what he might feel. Inspector? How about Nosey?

    Shalom

I see the mouse, too, and it will just have to remain a secret from Hamlet. I'd hate to see him sitting in the corner trying to bite the back of his head!

As for the blackberries, I can't tell you how much I want to make a cobbler and some blackberry ice cream! Oh, how cruel to show and not share! ;-)

    *wanders off to pout*

We are full into strawberry season here. We won't see blackberries until August.

The Mark of the Mouse could mean many things. Hamlet could be quiet as a mouse or timid as a mouse though these do not seem to fit his personality. It also could mean that he is a good mouser; something most cats aspire to and few ever achieve. There is also the possibility that it is a sign of leadership and he will be the next ruler over the entire mouse kingdom in which case someone ought to warn Mickey to start practicing his genuflecting skills.

    Salamee, salamee, balony, balony.....

Oh, I'm hungry now. Lucky you.

Thanks for the comment on my blog.

I felt the same way about my worms at first. That is why I had to have a box with a locking lid. But I am use to them now.

It is all worth it when you see the fledgling Bluebirds sitting by the feeder with the momma feeding them as fast as she can.

This morning a fledgling was trying to help himself and was having a hard time landing in the right place. He kept falling off. In no time he was feeding himself.

Hamlet's hitch hiker is so sweet. Better watch out. He might wake a deside to hop off and get a berry.
