Hen and Squirrel, (Not To Be Confused With Moose and Squirrel)
Mon Aug 11 2008

[album 65561 GoofyHen2.JPG]I had a lovely time on vacation.
There was a lot of organization required
each day, keeping things in reach,
finding things that were lost,
keeping the camp clean
so the bears would stay away.
Which they did.
There were some pesky ground
squirrels in one campground however.
But I kept giving them the chicken eye,
and they would pop back into their
nasty little underground burrows.
Buk!
How can they live like that?

Oh, I'm sure you think him very cute.
But I caught one of them under the
picnic table trying to nip
She Who Must Not Be Named
on the ankle.
Of course it didn't help that
He Who Must Not Be Named
insisted on feeding him
perfectly good Mini-Wheats
even though there were signs
posted that clearly said not to.
He's such a rebel.

He wants training, he does.
He's not quite tame either.

That Pesky critter is a Mountain Marmot they like the high Country and have DEEP Burrows for it really gets COLD up there. They Whistle and stand up like a Parrie Dog. I would judge them to be about 3 times size a Chipmonk. We went through Sand Point so many times on our trips
fishing in the far North, it is a very pretty area.

He is cute, but I'll take your word on him being a bad critter.

Tame is so boring. Some critters should remain a bit on the wild side.
