The camera arrived yesterday.
It needed three hours to charge its battery, and it was dark by the time it was finished. So I wasn't inclined to try it out, as I'm not a fan of flash photography in general.
This morning, I tried to get a photo of a project I have on the loom...
I sorta have a knot in my stomach to tell you the truth, because I'm not sure I LIKE this camera. I don't know if we are going to be FRIENDS.
I bought the same brand, but a different model. All the buttons are wierd. The settings are different. It's smaller and lighter, which is not always a good thing in a camera in my estimation. I'm frankly freakin' out a little bit.
But on other fronts, with equipment and materials I am familiar with, things are just peachy.
My dear friend C. gave me a hank of yarn that she was trying to knit into a scarf, using the dreaded linen stitch. The stitch of awesome beauty, and gruesome execution. She loved her yarn, but not the gruesome. So we ripped it out together. I do not blame her.
The yarn? A marvel of short color changing, soft, high twist sock yarn called....
Yep. You read that right. :-)
Here it is in the morning light on the loom...
The colors are hard to capture truth to tell.
They are like a fall carnival I have decided.
The yarn is a joy to weave and once it's washed and blocked all those little spaces will snuggle up and make a lovely fabric.
But the camera and I?
Not so much.
Right now I'm not feeling very snuggly with it.
It's on probation.
I think I'll go outdoors this afternoon and take about a hundred photos and if I don't start to feel the love, this puppy may be sent packing. Life is too short to live with bad photos.
(That is NOT a proper proverb.)
It is now crankypants. It is now.
Cranky pants... get it Weasley?
